Neurological rehabilitation

Adaptable rehabilitation for changing neurological needs

Neurological conditions often affect several systems at once. We focus on the function that matters now while anticipating how movement, fatigue, communication, cognition, equipment and support needs may interact.

Areas of focus

  • Walking, turning, transfers and movement initiation
  • Balance, coordination, strength and exercise tolerance
  • Movement strategies for home and community tasks
  • Falls risk and appropriate mobility equipment
  • Carer training and graded assistance
  • Maintaining participation as needs change

Clinical reasoning over rigid protocols

We adapt assessment and treatment to the person’s presentation on the day. For progressive conditions, the plan may balance improvement, maintenance, compensation, equipment and carer sustainability. We coordinate with medical and allied health teams when broader review is needed.

Conditions we commonly encounter

Our community caseload includes people living with stroke, Parkinsonian conditions, multiple system atrophy, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy and other neurological presentations. Suitability is considered individually; a diagnosis alone does not determine the program.
