About Recovery at Home
A community practice built around real life
Recovery at Home is a Melbourne allied health practice. We work with people whose rehabilitation, mobility or care needs are best understood in their everyday environment.
How we think
We are interested in the gap between what a person can do in a controlled assessment and what they can manage on an ordinary day. Good community care requires clinical reasoning, practical problem-solving and respect for the person’s priorities—not a generic exercise sheet or equipment list.
What we value
- Dignity, consent and the right to make informed choices
- Clear explanations without unnecessary jargon
- Function, independence and participation
- Safe care that still supports appropriate challenge and progress
- Culturally responsive, non-judgmental communication
- Honest collaboration with families, referrers and care teams
A small team with a broad community lens
Our service model brings together physiotherapy, osteopathy and, where available and appropriate, occupational therapy, registered nursing, allied health assistance and remedial massage. This lets us keep care personal while addressing complex needs with the right discipline.
English and Russian-language communication are available within the team. Interpreter involvement can be considered for other languages.
Professional standards
Registered health practitioners hold current professional registration where required and work within their scope. We maintain privacy, consent, screening, insurance and clinical governance processes appropriate to community care.
