In-home physiotherapy

Assessment and treatment in the place function happens

Home visits let us assess more than a movement in isolation. We can see how strength, balance, pain, confidence, equipment and the environment combine during real daily tasks.

Physiotherapy may address

  • Reduced mobility, deconditioning and difficulty leaving the home
  • Falls, near-falls, balance changes and fear of falling
  • Gait, transfers, bed mobility and stair negotiation
  • Pain, weakness and loss of function after illness, injury or hospital admission
  • Neurological and progressive conditions
  • Carer education and safer ways to assist movement

What an assessment involves

We take a focused history, observe relevant daily tasks and assess the physical factors most likely to change management. That may include strength, balance, gait, joint movement, exercise tolerance, symptom behaviour, transfers and the suitability of current mobility aids.

You receive a practical explanation of the findings and a plan. Where useful, we communicate with family, case managers, care coordinators and other clinicians with the client’s consent.

Treatment is not one-size-fits-all

Some people need a short, concentrated period of rehabilitation followed by reassessment. Others benefit from steady ongoing input, a supervised exercise program, hydrotherapy, equipment review or a combination of services. Frequency is based on need, tolerance, goals and available funding—not a preset package.
